What the terrain is actually like
Once the convoy leaves the tarmac behind, the surface changes constantly. Forest tracks tighten between pines, dry sections throw up dust in long orange plumes, and after the shaded corners the ruts hold mud that sprays the cage. Shallow river and water crossings are part of the route, and they are the part everyone films. Canyon and foothill trails give you gradient, cambered turns and real off-road feel — this is not a flat loop around a field.
Come dressed to get filthy. Old clothes, closed shoes, a spare T-shirt in the bag. Sunglasses stay in your pocket because you ride in goggles.
The two-seat buggy, and who takes the wheel
Our buggies are side-by-side machines: two seats next to each other, a steel roll cage over your heads, seatbelts, and a car-style steering wheel with pedals. If you can drive a car, the controls will feel familiar within the first minute. That shared cab is the whole point — you ride with your partner, your friend or your child rather than shouting at each other from two separate machines.
- No driving licence and no previous experience required — the driver simply has to be an adult.
- The second seat takes a partner, a friend or a child (tell us the child's age when you book so we seat everyone correctly).
- Ability decides the wheel, not ego. Anyone who does not feel confident rides as a passenger for exactly the same money.
- Helmets and goggles are issued, and accident insurance is included.
How the session runs
Pickup, then a short transfer to base. On arrival you get a full safety briefing — controls, hand signals, convoy spacing, what to do in water — followed by a practice lap so the machine stops being a mystery before you are on open trail. Then the convoy rolls out behind a professional off-road guide who sets the pace to the group, not to the fastest driver in it. Morning departures give you firmer, cooler tracks; the golden-hour session gives you low light through the dust, which is the one people photograph.
